Amber Fossil
Through the ancient forest, winds were racing,
Carrying the songs of the birds, imbuing
Sweet breath of the trees
to nestle them all in a resin.
At every year's turn, it gently embraces sun ray, star light,
engraving golden wisdoms on its many faces,
like a candle wax, slowly frozen in a time.
washed into the stream
to
be
laid
down
on a Baltic sea bottom;
beneath the waters' end
starts
another
journey
to
grasp its meaning of being crystal clear
Like a window, wisely transparent
seeing through the million years yonder and now
mine eyes to meet these pieces of amber fire
glowing without burning
telling me more than the living.
